Our competitive program includes 2 disciplines – Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline & Tumbling (T&T). We have 2 different teams within our Artistic Gymnastics Program – Junior Olympic (JO) Team and Xcel Team. Both programs are for girls 5-18 years of age.
We are also one of a few Trampoline Development Centers in the nation, selected by USA Gymnastics, the national governing body. We have just started the competitive Trampoline & Tumbling (T&T) team, and we are the first in the state of South Dakota.
All teams train year-round in preparation for competition sanctioned by USA Gymnastics. Evaluations are required to register for Competitive Programs.
Our Xcel program is designed to give gymnasts more time in the gym than our recreational classes and also allows them to compete against other gyms throughout the state. Rather than class once a week like our Recreational programs, our Xcel gymnasts train twice a week from anywhere between 3-5 hours total depending on the level. In comparison, a JO gymnast will train between 9-16 hours in the gym each week.
Xcel gymnasts will have one to two competitions each month during the season. Xcel is a competitive program, but allows the gymnasts and their families other opportunities outside of the gym!
This team is for both boys and girls, ages 5 to 18. There are 4 events in the competitions – trampoline, tumbling, double-mini, and synchronized trampoline. We train Level 1-10 and Elite at AAGA and compete at state, regional, and national levels. Since this sport became an Olympic event, the sport started spreading throughout the US and the world.
